Melang Inn

We've come back to this hotel several times. It's an easy five-minute trip to Kuala Pilah town, with plenty close by, including a mosque, petrol station, convenience stores, Mr DIY, Econsave, Secret Recipe, Watsons, 7E, Shell, TCRS, Zus, A&W, Family Mart, Al Ikhsan, and Richeese. Service was efficient and the room clean. The bathroom could use some maintenance, especially the shower hose and sink tap.

On a few business trips to Kuala Pilah last week, I booked two room types to compare them. Both had air conditioning and their own Wi-Fi, and there was free parking. Remember to get the parking coupon from reception and display it in the car in the designated area. Most rooms don't have a refrigerator, but reception can store your things in theirs. The Executive Room had a queen bed for two, plus a balcony and sitting area with a view. That came at the cost of room space, and there was no fridge, which was inconvenient when I had bought milk at a nearby supermarket. The Deluxe King had a king bed and plenty of space, enough that you could add a bed for a third person. It also had no small fridge for food or drinks.

The front desk staff were good, the air conditioning cool, and the room came with slippers, its own Wi-Fi access point, and tea and coffee with a kettle. The facilities are moderate, though the price feels a bit high for what's offered. There was no minibar or toilet amenities, the shower tap wouldn't stay firm, and TV channels were limited. I also saw dust flying around when the lobby cleaner swept near guests, so please pause while people are walking by. It's a decent hotel that could improve. Updated 23/01/26: It's fine for a short stay, but the TV selection is the main drawback. On my latest stay there were only three channels, TV2, Channel8, and RTM Sport. I noticed some rooms had smart TVs, so the setup isn't consistent. Please improve this. Updated 28/03/26: My stay in room 517 was unpleasant. It wasn't as advertised.

We found the location very convenient, and the room had plenty of space and everything we needed. The room scent, though, was so strong that it left us feeling a little dizzy and uncomfortable. Check-in took a while too: we arrived around 3:45 pm and waited about 40 minutes.
