Even after Agoda confirmed my booking for two rooms at RM97, I was refused check-in and told to pay another RM95. The owner said Agoda had listed the wrong price, called it my problem, and told me to sort it out with Agoda. Without paying, I could only have checked into one room. It took 45 minutes of calls to Agoda customer service to resolve, and OYO covered the extra cost. Once payment has been made and the booking confirmed, customers shouldn't be left to fix this. The owner should take it up with OYO and Agoda. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

The water pressure was low, and there seemed to be just one bar of soap provided. The location is handy, though, close to Pulau Kekabu and Pekan, with plenty of shops and food stalls nearby.

It was very quiet at night, and food stalls are within walking distance, including a nice place for ikan celup tepung (ICT). The room was clean and the bedding comfortable. There's no kettle or fridge in the room, but a hot and cold water dispenser is in the lobby, and the shower has a water heater. The hotel sits on the northern bank of Sg Marang, with access to a riverside platform and lovely views of the river and sea. Rooms come as twin, double, triple, or quad.

The room was spacious, but the facilities were very basic, and the toilet door had no lock. That was disappointing. It could work for people who just need somewhere to leave their luggage while travelling to Pulau Kapas. It's in the middle of Marang town, with shops nearby and a mosque close by.

The jetty is close by if you're planning a day trip to Kapas Island. Marang Wave Breaker is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
