The towels and bedsheets were the only things that seemed clean. Dust covered the furniture, there was hair in the toilet, mould on the walls, and stains on the sinks, showers, walls, and floors. Plaster bagworms were all over the place, and the water filters had gunk in them. I can put up with old furniture, but a dirty hotel is unforgivable when cleanliness should be standard for paying guests. It was dirty, mouldy, and smelly 😞. Please don't trust those positive reviews.

The room was fairly large and nice, with a comfy bed, but the toilet was dirty and had a lot of mould. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. I won't stay here on my next trip.

The price is affordable, sure, but cleanliness matters when people are paying for somewhere to rest and sleep. Luxury isn't necessary, but the place needs to be clean. If there aren't enough maids, hire some. The room was so dirty, with a strong unpleasant smell as soon as I walked in, probably cigarettes and something else. And when I switched on the air conditioning, it was so suffocating. This shouldn't be treated as normal.

The hotel felt gloomy and depressing, with no desk or chair in the room. The walls looked like they belonged in a horror movie, and the room had no windows, so I had to breathe stale cigarette smell the whole time. It was disgustingly dusty and dirty. My room reeked of old cigarettes, with hair all over the floor. The toilet was sticky and unclean, with a musty smell. The mugs and tray seemed as if they hadn't been washed properly in ages, and even the teabags looked stained, maybe from old stock. There was no parking facility. You have to pay for parking tickets, but the check-in counter didn't have coupons, so they told me to install the Pahang Go app and buy tickets online myself. I checked out after just an hour and moved to another hotel that same day. I regretted booking three days at Carlton Inn before arriving in Kuantan because of some "good" reviews on a hotel booking app. When I asked about a refund for the cancelled nights, a staff member said I couldn't get one because "all hotels practice non-refund policy" and dismissed me as if I were stupid. I actually got the refund through the booking app. I felt cheated. Stay away from this scam "hotel" if you don't want to go through the same hell I did.
