Greenlast Hotel

For a quick, low-cost night, Greenlast Hotel (Greenlast) is workable, but it didn’t meet all my expectations. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, though clearer communication could make things smoother. The service was okay, but felt transactional instead of welcoming. The room was generally acceptable for a short stop, yet some areas seemed to need better cleaning and maintenance. Sound insulation wasn’t great either. There are basic amenities, but nothing stands out, and comfort was average at best.

I’ve stayed here three times. The location is good, close to amenities, and there’s refill drinking water beside the lift. The AC works well. The bathroom needs a bigger screen at the bathing area to stop water spilling onto the floor, which could cause someone to slip. The pillows are too hard for me, and I’d prefer lower, softer ones. TV reception is poor and there aren’t many programs. Toothbrush and toothpaste should be provided, and a small refrigerator would be useful. The carpet smells, so I suggest replacing it with tiles, which would be more hygienic and easier to clean and manage.

I booked through Agoda and paid RM170 for one night, which felt like a waste of money. Room 604 on the 6th floor was too small, and the king-size bed only suited three people. The shower and toilet flush didn’t work, and there was no lock on the bathroom door. The hotel had no housekeeping, yet charged for all the facilities. The TV was tiny and its remote didn’t work. The glass and tissue box were very dusty. It was my worst experience in Kuantan, and I’m from Kuala Lumpur.

We booked at the last minute as walk-ins, and Ms Nisha at reception was really helpful and kind about our situation. The rooms were worthy of a five-star rating too. We’ll definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.
