Oyo 89873 Nurbayu Chalet

We were deeply disappointed by how the owner or site operator handled things. A few days after checkout, we received a long accusatory message about the photos we'd uploaded showing puddles and rising water at the property when we arrived. This was during heavy monsoon season, when major flooding had affected many places in Peninsular Malaysia. We hadn't written a proper review yet because internet service kept cutting out during our journey, and we regret the misunderstanding caused by the photos. The message included questions about why we put water pictures on Google and whether we meant to damage a Malay-owned business, along with the claim that we had nothing good to say about their place. No one asked us for clarification before sending it. The owner and staff did take quick action to address the water issue, and we had planned to write a detailed review once we reached our destination safely after several flood-related detours. We chose this accommodation despite the mixed reviews shown across three different Google Maps markers because we wanted to support a Malay-owned business. Oyo Nurbayu Chalet is part of a large, privately owned luxury property, but the chalet business is still in hospitality. The way owners and staff treat guests reflects on the accommodation and its reputation. Overall, it was a terrible experience. Thanks for the gestures and the experience. So far, so good, but the Antigonon Leptopus Room has a couple of problems. The bathroom or toilet lamps aren't working, and the water heater and rain pipe are broken. These need to be repaired ASAP for guests' comfort.

We confirmed and paid for two rooms for two nights two months in advance, but when we arrived to check in, the owner said there were no rooms available. How could that be when the app still showed availability? Very bad management and unreliable. Zero stars in my opinion. For context, it took us about nine hours to get there.

Nurbayu Chalet is no longer with OYO, as of 1 May 2023. Don't book through the OYO app for this place now. Better to walk in or call the owner. The chalet concept is nice and the price is very affordable. To get a lower rate, book early through OYO or a booking app and pay in advance.
