Merry and her husband from Sweden are friendly hosts and really good company. The bedding is super comfortable, and the air conditioning works perfectly. It’s great value for a budget stay. There’s a kitchen guests can use from 8:30am to 20:30pm, and supplies like toilet paper, coffee, tea and drinking water are always fully stocked. Lots of places to eat and drink nearby, plus the riverside is about a 10-minute walk away.

The location makes it easy to walk to the waterfront and main attractions, and we had a really pleasant stay. Merry Rose and Martin were warm and accommodating, sharing local activity tips, giving us a map and helping with bus times for the free bus to the orangutan centre. They even helped us with the 1 ringgit bus to Bako national park. Merry made sure the place was cleaned daily, and we could refill our bottles with filtered water. The shared toilets and showers were clean, with hot water. Our beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well, and the curtains blocked out the light. I’d highly recommend staying here in Kuching.

After trying four different budget places during my 10 days in Kuching, this one was cleaner and quieter than the others. The open shower room was nice, though I know it may not suit everyone. The downside was all the mosquitoes around the toilet and shower. I got bitten whenever I went to use the toilet or take a shower.

It’s an easy 10-15 minute walk to the waterfront, with good food nearby. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and everything was very clean. You can tell the hosts really care about their work. They were also so friendly and helped us with Kuching tips and ordering a taxi. 100% recommend staying here!

The location is great, and the place is kept clean. There’s a well-equipped kitchen for making your own food, and the beer is well priced. The owners and staff are super nice and relaxed, and happy to help with anything, though there may be times when nobody is around. They also rent out tents, which is handy since accommodation at Bako national park is often booked far ahead. The social area is nice, but it can be pretty quiet if you’re hoping to meet people.
