I stayed six nights. The room was charming, fairly clean, and had a comfortable bed. Not everything was perfect, but it’s an old traditional house. The host was responsive and helpful, and the location is right in the middle of everything. Still, I wouldn’t recommend it while the coffeeshop downstairs stays open until 0330am with loud music. The building is old and has literally zero sound insulation, so it feels like sleeping inside the coffeeshop. You can hear conversations and every cough. That’s incompatible with running a guesthouse. Most coffeeshops nearby open from 09am to 06pm, which would be fine and fit most people’s sleep schedules. It could be a great place, but that noise ruins it and makes proper sleep impossible.

The owner was SUPER nice and helpful. He even drove us to the airport and pointed out where to go and what to see in Malaysia. The rooms were clean and really nice, and the beds were comfortable. The temperature was tricky, though: upstairs could get very hot, while leaving the air conditioning on too long made downstairs freezing.

The guest house has a cosy atmosphere and a bit of character, and it’s good value for the money. The owners are super friendly, and the lovely people there make fresh, lovely food. :)

We stayed during Hari Malaysia at a bargain price. The rooms were more than enough for our family of 7.

The location made it easy to wander along the waterfront and through lively streets with plenty of places to eat and drink. The guesthouse itself was lovely too, especially the staff and owners. They kindly let me check out later on the day I left. I loved how simple and clean my room was, with just what I needed. The shared space for the shower and loo was modern and spotless, and the shower pressure was great. The cafe was a real gem. I’m vegetarian, and they were happy to make a small change and add something to my meal. The food was delicious. I also loved the Vietnamese coffee over ice. On a hot day, ask about the iced teas. I had lemongrass tea, which was so refreshing. Can’t recommend the place enough. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay, I’ll be back :D
