Getting picked up was a bit awkward because there's no proper lobby, and Grab even asked me to wait across the road by the opposite shoplots. The location itself is strategic, close to the riverfront. I liked the quiet, nicely decorated room, though its small toilet-style window let in very little natural light and made the room feel a bit like a jail cell. On the third morning, water suddenly started leaking from the air conditioning.

This was our second visit to Abell Hotel, and we chose a bigger room with windows so we wouldn't feel claustrophobic. From the moment we arrived, every staff member greeted us with a ready smile and service that could match any five star hotel. One staff member even walked out with us and down to the next street to point us in the right direction for an attraction. Malaysian hospitality at its best. We love you Abell Hotel, and we'll see you next time.

I was there for just one night, so this is only based on a short stay. The deluxe room isn't the hotel's cheapest, but it was pretty basic, which was fine for a brief visit. It looked clean, though I spotted a long hair on the bed and some hairs on the shower floor. I didn't make a fuss about those. The bed was firm, the air conditioning worked well, and bathroom water pressure was good. Breakfast didn't have a big selection, but it was enough for me. Good value for the price.
