The Waterfront Hotel

My daughters and I had a great holiday stay, with a top-notch room overlooking the iconic Kuching scenery. The hotel amenities were excellent, and the main reception staff were friendly. Breakfast had a range of delicious local and Western dishes that my family really enjoyed. Thanks for the wonderful experience. We’ll surely return and recommend trying this luxurious holiday at an affordable price.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a tasty, satisfying range that included local dishes and lighter choices. The rooms also made for a relaxing place to return to after exploring Kuching: clean, updated and contemporary, with a comfortable bed and thoughtful lighting. The hotel connects directly to a shopping mall, handy for food, shopping and everyday needs, and its central location makes it practical for business or leisure. Parking is in the mall, so getting to and from the car involves some walking, which can be awkward with luggage. Facilities are fairly basic, with no gym or extra recreation options. A solid choice if you value the location, modern rooms and breakfast.

Right in the centre of the older part of town, with good river views and lights, this hotel has a great location. The staff seem genuinely proud of the place and the service, and make you feel welcome with their smiles and friendliness. Local art is displayed throughout, and some pieces are for sale. Breakfast is a good buffet. It works well for sightseeing, and there’s a proper desk and chair if you need to work. Service is great, but the atmosphere is relaxed.

The location is amazing, above the shopping mall and within easy walking distance of key landmarks. The buffet was decent, with both Asian and Western food, and parking is shared with Plaza Merdeka, with free parking redeemable per guest. We booked a city-view suite as a bridal room, but the layout was a big letdown for the price. The living room felt dark and shadowy, and the suite only had half a window. I asked the front desk, and Sharon went above and beyond to move us to a much better suite, with four windows and a sea view. I’d advise the Hotel to update the website photos so people know what to expect.
