Hotel & Apartment Ambassador 3

The bed was comfortable, and the air-conditioning kept the room cool despite looking like it was barely hanging on. The town-centre location is handy too. But Room 1219 is another story. The room feels very dated and needs redecorating, and the road outside sounds like a drag-racing track at any hour. There’s no real soundproofing either: I could hear everything from Rooms 1220 and 1221, and even opened my door while trying to work so the neighbours would know someone else was there. The plumbing was loud enough to feel like a shared water feature. Whenever someone nearby showered, it sounded like Niagara Falls, then there’d be a big clang when the water stopped. Hot water tended to show up halfway through my shower, after I’d nearly given up. The Wi-Fi was just as frustrating. I spent ages switching between Wi-Fi A and Wi-Fi B, and sometimes neither worked. One evening reception had simply turned the Wi-Fi off. It’s old, noisy, and chaotic, though the mattress and pillows were decent and the central location is excellent. If you sleep heavily and don’t mind unreliable Wi-Fi or plumbing, you might be okay. I might stay again, but not in Room 1219.
