Premierz Hotel

There wasn't much storage, so we had to improvise to fit our things. Our room was quite narrow, though comfortable, and it was clean and tidy.

The noise around 10 PM made it hard to rest, because our neighbor had the TV volume extremely high. Cleanliness was the bigger problem, though. There were visible stains on the bedsheets, the toilet seat hadn't been properly cleaned, and the towels didn't seem fresh, so we hesitated to use them. We stayed here recently and were disappointed. The room was quite small, which we could have overlooked, but the hotel needs to improve its hygiene and noise control.

The rooms are tiny, though that’s understandable for a budget place. I only needed somewhere to sleep, shower, and leave after ferry cancellations changed my plans, and for one night it was just about usable. I wouldn’t stay longer than 6-8 hours if I could help it. There’s no soundproofing, and rooms look onto an alley or the main road. The windowless cheapest rooms might be quieter. The sheets were badly stained, there were ants in the bathroom, and I found hair and grime around the room. The walls had mold. The shower head was clogged with calcium, spraying water everywhere and leaving the bathroom floor wet. It feels honest about being a dump, which earns it three stars, but I’ve stayed in much nicer dumps, so two stars come off. If you avoid looking closely at the bed, walls, bathroom, or floor, it’ll do for a night. It felt like the cheapest option in Victoria, though it apparently isn’t, and I can’t see why anyone would stay longer.

The room was small but quite good. I did spot a cockroach, though, and the towels didn’t seem fresh. Wi-Fi was very poor, and from my room on the third floor my phone couldn’t get a signal.
