Adya Hotel Langkawi

The view was nice and the room was big, but I could have paid less and gotten the same thing. The bathroom leaked, pipes made loud noises on and off, and the shower was always cold, so I never got a hot one. I also saw a cockroach in the toilet. There was one full bottle of drinking water in the room and another that was half empty and already open. I asked for another bottle, waited over an hour, then went downstairs and asked again. After another 30 minutes, I still hadn’t got one. The next day, I just grabbed a bottle myself. 😓

We chose this Langkawi hotel because it advertised a WOMEN-ONLY swimming pool, but our experience was very disappointing. When we arrived, male staff were cleaning around the pool, so we had to wait. We were wearing swimsuits in an area meant to be strictly for women while men were still there working nearby. As women who wear the veil, privacy and comfort were the reason we chose this hotel. What happened made us very uncomfortable and didn’t match what had been promised. I find it misleading and unacceptable. If the pool is advertised as women-only, that should be respected. I don’t recommend this place.

The room cleanliness was poor, and on the day we left I couldn’t get back into my room even though I was entitled to use it until 12:30. I went out at 11 and returned ten minutes later, but my card no longer opened the door. During our two-day stay, the sheets were never changed or even straightened. The used face towel was taken away without a fresh one being left. The coffee cup had a burqa in it, and they didn’t replenish the tea or spoons.

Rudaini made our meal even more enjoyable with her warm welcome and attentive, outstanding service. The food was delicious, and the restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere. We had a great experience.
