Bamboo Cottage Langkawi

Being close to the beach and restaurants while surrounded by wildlife was a nice balance. The outdoor kitchen and water refill were useful extras, too. Our room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. It looked better than the online photos. The pool was closed for maintenance during our stay, but that hadn't been clear when we booked. A staff member said they'd asked booking.com to add the notice, so it may not have been the owners' fault. Our room, no.10, also had lots of mosquitoes. I haven't seen other reviews mention them, so maybe it was just that room. In general, we had a positive stay.

The pool wasn't available during our stay, which was disappointing since I hadn't known when booking. Maybe I missed a notice. Even so, I'd recommend this place for the friendly service and comfortable stay we had. The owner was kind and communicative; knowing we were arriving late after a long travel day, she had our room ready and let us handle the formalities the following day. It's a lovely cottage off the main road near Tengah beach. The room was clean, spacious, had good air conditioning and a roomy enough bathroom. It didn't get much natural light, so it felt quite dark most of the time, though we weren't in there enough for that to be a big issue. There's a nice outdoor area with shared kitchen facilities and things available to buy, like eggs and bread. Coffee, tea and water are free for guests.

The beach area around here was probably the best part. Stay at the south end and there are good restaurants, a hotel where you can use the rooftop pool and get a nice breakfast, plus a couple of clubs if you fancy that. It’s still much quieter than farther north. Our room was clean, with air conditioning, a fridge and a private bathroom. The bed was large but a bit firm, and the pool area was nice. Being able to take food and drinks and just sign for them felt really trusting and gave the place a nice, soulful feel. The manager could have been more engaging, and a simple curtain separating the shower from the toilet would help. We liked it overall.

The outdoor space was my favorite part of my solo stay at Bamboo Cottage in Langkawi. There’s a lovely pool and a well-equipped outdoor kitchen, just right for relaxing in the tropical weather. The weather was fantastic while I was there, too. My room was cozy and comfortable, and the whole place was spotless and beautifully looked after. Zita was such a kind, respectful host and incredibly helpful. She suggested places to visit and things to explore around Langkawi, which made my trip even better. I’d happily come back and recommend Bamboo Cottage to anyone visiting.
