There’s hardly anything around, and the area feels like a ghost town. The place is noisy, with people coming and going at all hours, and the Wi-Fi keeps dropping out.

The room was already dirty before we’d used anything, even though this is a budget hotel. I asked several times for clean sheets and a pillowcase, but each time they gave a different excuse, like “maybe the sheet already finish”.

The location is passable, with a 7-11 about a ten-minute walk across the road, but I’d avoid staying here. Booking said it was newly renovated, yet there was a hole in our bathroom ceiling and the old bathroom felt unpleasant, though it wasn’t really dirty. Wi-Fi was so slow that we spent the afternoon trying to work at reception, where it was slow too. The staff seemed bored and acted like we were bothering them. Our room had only a TV, no kettle, hair dryer, fridge, or water. There’s also a mosque right beside the hotel, with very loud prayers. Even if it’s cheap, I’d pay two more euros for a normal place.

The location is great, but the service felt unwelcoming, and we won’t stay here again. We booked through the ferry link cuti cuti Kedah, and the pictures didn’t match what we found. The room was very basic, with a bed, bathroom, and wardrobe, and little space to move or pray. There’s no lift and nobody helped with our luggage upstairs. An iron and board, kettle, and cups were available if requested, but we weren’t told at check-in; we had to collect them ourselves, and there was no coffee, tea, or teaspoon. We also had to pay a refundable RM50 deposit for the key. The TV and air-conditioning remotes were handed over at check-in and had to be returned to reception at checkout. This was a first for us. Guests are paying customers, and people return when they feel welcome.
