MyVilla Langkawi Hotel

The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully set up, and we had a delicious meal in a lovely setting. From the moment I arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and eager to help. The location made for a peaceful escape while keeping local attractions conveniently close. I really got to relax and unwind here. Whether you want a quiet getaway or a base for exploring, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to return. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The rooms were unhygienic, with ants, insects, and mosquitoes, and the sink clogged even while I was brushing my teeth. The room condition was awful, and I could barely stand the smell. It’s 3 km from the most popular beach, so expect to pay 6-7 MYR each way. The receptionist was very rude and asked for a 20 MYR tourism tax, though no other hotel charged me one. It felt like a rip-off. Don’t book this hotel, even through airbnb. If you’re Indian, don’t book here.

The room was clean but old, with obvious wall damage and a clear need for renovation. Apart from a bed, table, and chair, there was no furniture: no wardrobe or shelves, just a couple of hangers. I had to keep all my belongings and clothes on the floor. The hot water and shower worked fine, but the sink was stuck and kept overflowing. WiFi was slow and disconnected several times a day, making it hard to use. The pool looks cool in the pictures, but in reality it’s very, very small, about twice the size of an inflatable kids’ pool. It closes after 21:00, as is common around the island. Housekeeping usually came in the evening, around 16:00-17:00. We’d go out in the morning, leave the “please make the room” card, then come back at 14:00-15:00 and find the room still uncleaned. The noise isolation is completely lacking. Every day, we heard our neighbors’ alarm at 5 in the morning and the nearby Masjid songs at about 6. I slept really badly. There are lots of quiet hotels in quiet areas around the island, so consider one if you want peace and quiet. At check-in, they tried to charge me an extra 60 MR for a tourist fee. Other hotels hadn’t charged me this, and I expected no extra charges after paying the full price at agoda. I refused and argued because I thought it was a scam attempt. Eventually they let me check in without paying, which only made the procedure seem unclear.

The location near the main duty-free market was the only good part. My stay was horrible. I found a huge cockroach in the room, which was a serious hygiene concern. When I told reception, they gave me repellent spray and asked me to kill and clean it myself. I asked them to send cleaning staff, and they agreed. WiFi was awful and spotty, so there was no way to work here if that’s what you need. It wasn’t worth the money at all.
