The setting and design are special, with lovely nature around the property. It’s a great fit if you’re looking for a quiet, authentic place with style and art, away from the loud, older big hotels by the beach. The rooms and grounds feel luxurious while still feeling like home. We also liked that scooters were available to rent. We were happy with the stay overall and would recommend it, but the service fell short of what we expected. Breakfast was repeatedly missing essentials, the towels weren’t clean enough, and the shower temperature regulator didn’t work. The staff on site did their best, but it was clear there was no senior manager present. They seemed a bit left on their own by the owner and had to check decisions with him in the background. We’d suggest having a professional full-time manager on site to respond to guests and guide the kind staff through daily operations. That could resolve many of these problems. Since the place is a bit remote, a small selection of drinks and snacks for purchase would help. We were also surprised that lunch and dinner weren’t available on site, even though the website said they were. A big thanks to Amirul and Mira, who juggled many tasks and stayed cheerful. We understand the staffing situation was temporary, but guests shouldn’t feel the effect of those changes.

The jungle setting made the place feel magical, and we could watch wildlife from the terrace. We saw lots of hornbills and even a group of dusky leaf monkeys. The rooms were lovely and clean, and we especially enjoyed the terrace and swimming pool. We had a wonderful time there.

The room was so comfortable, especially the lovely bath looking out into the bush. Sekar Pinang was peaceful, well maintained and had a touch of luxury. On arrival, we were welcomed in a beautiful lobby with cold towels and a fresh drink. Zam was a wonderful host with loads of information, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely add it to our list of places to revisit.

The service was outstanding. Zam made us feel like royalty, helping with everything from arranging a rental car to laying out a perfect breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with beautiful decor and artwork, and the property’s natural setting and wildlife are stunning. Sekar Pinang is a real hidden gem. If you’re going to Langkawi, you’d be mad to stay anywhere else. Amazing.

Our three nights at S’ekar Pinang were amazing, with great facilities, breakfast and personal service. It’s worth having your own transport to explore the island. They arranged scooter hire for us, which was a perfect way to get around. Don’t hesitate to book!
