The staff were generous and helpful, and the rooms were clean, affordable, and just as described. It's also very handy for the airport, with Cenang Beach and the market within walking distance. The building exterior could use some maintenance, and breakfast options were quite limited. Still, the cleanliness and hospitality make it a good budget choice.

We had a very good stay as a family with three teenagers. The staff suggested Mambu Villa, with three air-conditioned rooms, and it was spacious. There's no TV, but that was fine with us. Breakfast was simple, though the portions were generous. A nice alternative if you don't want the usual hotel setup.

We came back to Langkawi for a second visit and chose Daun Resort, a boutique place beside the riverside at the start of Pantai Chenang. The chalets have lovely architecture and layouts, and each one has a different design. If you like a kampung-style atmosphere, you'll feel at home here. There's no pool, but that didn't stop us exploring the island's beaches. Hiring a car makes it easy to find Instagrammable spots and cafes. Parking is plentiful, and the resort is affordable and good value. The chalets are well kept, though the garden is full of nature and attracts bugs. Some have open garden bathrooms, which we didn't mind. I also loved the hand soap and shower cream, scented with local products like Jasmine and Pandan Leave. We'd choose The Daun Resort again on another trip.

A comfortable traditional stay, with kind, helpful staff and good insect control. The location is close to the airport and Cenang Beach. We had a two-bedroom place, but the air conditioning upstairs wasn't cold even when set to 16c. The cafe could use a little more life.

A lovely room, tastefully decorated and overlooking the river. The host was friendly, and it was great to be away from the chaos in the town centre. 10/10.
