I stayed for five days and really didn't want to leave. It's quiet, set back from the road, and the chalets have good sound insulation from one another. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there's a lovely roti place just around the corner for breakfast. It's also a reasonable budget option near Pentai Cenang. I paid £28 a night in February 26. Each room is a spacious chalet with a comfy bed, clean bedding, and towels in good condition. There's air conditioning, a kettle area, fridge, work area, and chair. The bathroom is huge, with a great shower and fan. They provide plenty of good toilet roll, plus nice hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo. Outside, each one has a patio with a drying rack, table, and chairs. There's a pool, maybe 20 feet by 10, with loungers and clean towels for pool use. You can do laundry for 6 ringgit, washing powder included. There's also a water cooler and shared areas to cook and eat. I've spent the last month travelling around Malaysia and had some terrible places for a similar price, so this one was a real find.

The two women at reception made our stay in Langkawi feel special. They were friendly, down-to-earth, always smiling, and full of positive energy. When we asked to change rooms, they did it straight away without hesitation and went out of their way to make us comfortable. I'm really grateful for their help throughout our stay. Service this warm is rare, and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Langkawi.

We're a couple on a backpacking trip in Langkawi and found The Nutshell a great place to stay. The room was spacious and well stocked, the pool is beautiful, and the staff were so kind and helpful. We used the scooter hire and laundry facilities, both of which were really useful and affordable. I hope we get to stay at The Nutshell, Langkawi again.

A lovely stay in Langkawi, with very clean rooms and great service. There's a nice pool where western-style swimwear is allowed, free tea, a shared kitchen, and a laundry room. The main downside was a bit of noise when it rained, and you can hear the nearby mosque.

It's in a quiet spot away from the road, and the staff are friendly. The beach is a 20-minute walk. You can rent a scooter, do laundry, and cook here. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need, and we even made a mango smoothie. The pool is warm and reasonably clean, and there are cute cats to keep you amused. The kitchen and dining floors could use regular washing. They were a bit dirty, and trash had been sitting around for weeks, including a dead frog. The pool area and walls also needed cleaning. And one time a frog even came out of the shower 😁
