Lumut Villa Inn Homestay

Our plans changed at the last minute on New Year’s night, and the other hotels we called were sold out. Luckily, we checked here and got a family room with two double beds. We only needed somewhere to sleep since it was late, so the room was okay for us. It looked old, but the price was affordable. The air conditioner worked well, and the toilet was okay with great water pressure. There were plenty of parking spaces, either in front of the building or in the lot behind it if the front was full.

We needed a last-minute room for the family during peak season after missing the last ferry. The room looked old, and the pillowcases were so worn that I didn’t dare use the pillows. The towels were far too old and should be replaced. Our room’s air conditioner was badly maintained, noisy, and didn’t feel cold at all, so we left quickly the next morning. I did like the TV and the good selection of channels.

We took one look at the room and left without staying. The Agoda photos had given us a very misleading idea of the place. The air conditioning didn't work, it was dirty, the cabinets were broken, and the toilet was a squat one. After travelling around Malaysia since 15th of August, this was meant to be our last stop, and I'd never come across a hotel with a squat toilet on any of my trips. Please don't stay here. I won't stay at OYO hotels again.

The staff were friendly and helpful, which is the only reason I gave one star. I booked through AGODA, where this was listed as a "Deluxe Twin Room," but the room I checked into looked nothing like the photos. The rate was also grossly overpriced. There was a sewage smell, the wardrobe and table were broken, and the bedding was in awful shape: dark stains on the bedcovers and beneath the pillowcases, plus discolored, torn sheets. The air conditioning and TV didn't work either. Worst of all, it had a SQUAT TOILET! I learned my lesson about trusting AGODA's photos and supposed special discounts. It's better to call the hotel and check.
