I’ve stayed here a couple of times on trips to Malacca. It’s the best budget hotel I’ve stayed in, and Miss Vivian Chan and her team provided service that felt as good as a 4-star hotel. Keep up the good work.

Mr. Alex at reception was really friendly and helpful. He answered our questions and shared useful information about Malacca. The location worked well too, with places to eat nearby and most highlights close by. We walked to Baba & Nyonya Museum and Stadthuys. The AC was nice and cold, and the room slippers were a welcome touch since the floor gets cold, especially on trips to the bathroom. There’s no elevator, which could be a problem for older guests or anyone with mobility issues. You have to carry your luggage up the stairs to the counter and then to your room. It’s an old two-storey shophouse from the outside, and the check-in counter isn’t on the ground floor. The hairdryer looked worn out, and I was worried it might blow when heated. There also wasn’t a proper cupboard for clothes, just a rod above the kettle, which didn’t seem practical.

Right in the middle of Malacca's Jonker Street, so the location is handy for a short trip. The room has the basics, including shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush, and towels. Just be aware that there’s no lift: reception is up two flights of stairs, making the place unsuitable for wheelchair users and not very elderly-friendly. If you don’t mind the stairs, it’s a good short-stay option.

Alex’s local knowledge made a big difference to our stay in Malacca. The Google reviews are a haphazard mix of tourists and locals, and he helped me sort through the less useful information. The hotel is in a restored old building, so I don’t have much to say about its limited amenities.
