7 Star Hotel

Today’s room was smaller than yesterday’s, but I was alone, so it was okay. Under RM 130 and still nice and clean. YouTube and Netflix, strong aircon. No lift, toothbrush or coffee. Hot water is outside the room.

We ended up here for four nights after a last-minute decision. The reviews had worried us, but we had no other option. It was cheap, with free cold water, WiFi, and Netflix on the TV. Staff tried to help when they could: we asked for a kettle, fresh bed sheets every day, and toilet paper, among other things. The rooms are tiny, just enough for a bed and a small bedside table, and there was mold in the bathroom. My room had nowhere to hang clothes, even after they brought hangers, which was funny. The cleaning product smelled really strong and unpleasant, though the smell faded the longer we stayed in the room. Staff would sometimes open the door to clean without knocking, then apologize. Not sure if they had the wrong room or what. There’s no elevator. The room was so hot we had to keep the AC on most of the time, otherwise we’d have been swimming in our sweat. With such a small space, my husband and I got extremely sick.

The name of this hotel is misleading. It doesn’t deserve a star. There was a cigar smell in every room we tried, even after changing rooms, and the ventilation was poor. Customer service, phone manners, and staff people skills were poor too. Cheap, but not worth it.

There’s a window with no covering, so people outside can see into the room. There’s no privacy at all, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a trip. The price and design also don’t match what the Airbnb and other websites advertise.
