Angsana Hotel

The room was okay and the check-in and checkout were smooth. The ambience was nice. Parking is behind the hotel, though you can use a space in front if one is free. If you need an iron, they ask for a RM20 deposit and you'll have to collect it from the lobby yourself. The TV sometimes turned itself off. They provided shower cream in a dispenser but no shampoo, and the towel rack was rusty. Not bad for a budget hotel.

The price is reasonable, and it works for a short stay. Check-in and checkout went smoothly. The room wasn't especially clean, but was acceptable for a brief visit. There's parking behind the building, though walking through that area at night felt a bit creepy.

The room was clean, and the heritage-style lobby decor was nice. There's no refrigerator, but a nearby food court was good. The lift was great.

The receptionist service deserves five stars on its own. When my parents' room and ours weren't very clean, they let us look at a couple of different rooms and changed both rooms for us. We ended up with a room that felt close to 4-star quality. The family suite's lounge chair was so comfortable I wanted to take it home, and the bed was comfy, the air conditioning cold, and the toilet fairly clean. WiFi was odd. I could play 4K 60 fps videos smoothly for a few, then it stopped completely. Outdoor parking was quite limited, with fewer than 10 cars. There is a lift, which matters for a family of eight like ours, with older people, children, an infant, a stroller, and lots of bags. I've stayed at some 3-star and even 4-star boutique hotels without lifts.
