I was nervous after reading the reviews, but I was staying for a while and wanted to save money, so I decided to take a chance. I’m glad I did. The room was basic and the mattress a little firm, but the host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She lent me her umbrella when it rained one day, and gave me food for free twice. She’s the nicest host I’ve met in my travels. The room also had great Aircon, which was handy in the humidity.

The owners seemed not to care about guests, and the place felt old and smelled bad. There was noise all day, too, and the room itself was smelly. The location is convenient and the price is low, but there are better nearby options at similar prices. I'd avoid it unless paying more isn't possible.

The room was dirty and smelled of sewage, and the naphthalene they used to cover it made the air worse. When I complained that the chemical smell was burning my nose, the receptionist removed one ball and said that was all. I barely slept, then found seven more under the bed in the morning. It felt like she had lied to me. I was told the smell might take time to go away, but it stayed strong. Noise was another problem. The receptionist lives at the hotel but apparently doesn't go to her room until 1 a.m., and I could hear her talking loudly on the phone or watching movies. My room was right beside reception, and the door and window didn't shut properly, so it all came through. The AC had no remote, just an on-off button by the door. There wasn't a hook to hang clothes, the bed was so old that its middle touched the floor, and the pillows were very hard and high. The Wi-Fi was poor even though I was near reception, so I had to go to cafes to make reservations and bookings. The toilet was bad enough that I took a video and planned to upload it if Agoda allows it. Otherwise, I'll put it on Google reviews too. This was the worst experience of my seven months traveling in Asia.

Anisa was so nice, and the place was clean, well set up, and in a perfect spot. Great value for the money, too. Most rooms don't have windows, which is the one downside, but there's AC, so that helps. I'd say it's a good fit for a short stay.

Miss Anisa was especially kind and helpful, and she can speak English, Arabic, Indonesian, and Malay. The bathroom was clean, the shower had refreshing hot and cold water, and the king bed was comfortable. The room got very cold with the AC, which I liked. A great affordable place with lots of rooms.
