The staff were phenomenal, and the historic Mansion was lovely. The hotel was very clean, with a feel of historical luxury, and the pool and gym were well appointed. We did feel a bit out of place, though, since many of the guests seemed considerably older and likely to be on holiday packages. We’d still recommend staying here. The historian-led city tour runs most days at 10:30 a.m. for about 155r, with high tea back at the hotel afterwards. It was lovely, covered many of the city’s main sites, and the guide was easy to understand.

The rooms are cozy, aesthetic, and very spacious. Breakfast is à la carte rather than buffet, and the food was decent. You can order laksa. The staff are friendly, though it seemed they don’t often handle large group bookings. At check-in, it took them quite a while to find our booking and get us a card. There’s open-air parking behind the hotel, and it costs extra. Bring your TNG or bank card to get the fee waived.

Greg went above and beyond when we didn’t have the right cash for our Grab driver, and the service throughout was excellent. We stayed in a deluxe twin suite, which was generously sized, with traditional styling and gorgeous details. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and offered lots of menu choices. Our stay at the Majestic Malacca hotel was memorable and thoroughly enjoyable. We’d highly recommend The Majestic Malacca for a great stay and excellent service, and would gladly return on our next visit.

The building is beautiful, and I was very happy with the room’s layout and comfort, as well as the service, cleanliness, drinks, and breakfast options. A firmer pillow would have helped me sleep better. The spa treatments felt overpriced for the quality.

As a Diamond member, I didn’t feel recognized or appreciated, and got none of the perks or benefits. I chose this hotel for the Hilton benefits, but it had no Hilton identity or hospitality for me. This will be my last visit. Check-in was unpleasant too: they missed my message and decided to cancel my room. The room was very average, breakfast was okay, and parking was awful. I don’t recommend it. Spend your money somewhere better.
