The Nest House

The building looks lovely, and parking is free, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Our room was noisy, especially with people coming in on the ground floor, and the hotel is in a quiet, rather isolated spot about a 15-minute walk from Jonker Street. There’s no in-room fridge or safe, though you can use the shared fridge downstairs. The staff seemed unfriendly, and at checkout they didn’t ask about our stay or say anything.

For two people looking for a quiet, cozy stay, this is a great option. The room has a little green garden area and a double-height ceiling, and Jonker Walk is nearby. There’s a shared pantry with instant noodles and coffee. Parking is beside the building or along the roadside.

The showers never got hot, though the water felt refreshing. Everything else made for a restful stay: the homestay was clean, simple, welcoming, and very quiet. It’s a short walk to the attractions and a large mall, and there’s a great massage place one block away with happy specials.

The pillow was too soft for me, so I couldn’t sleep through the night, but the stay was pleasant. The cats were welcoming, the whole place was spotless and well kept, and the rooftop was a lovely spot to relax and look over the city. For two people, Rm211 after tax felt like a great deal. The shower had strong water pressure and the temperature worked well. There’s parking right beside the property, and I felt safe leaving the car there. Entry is by passcode. Free snacks, tap water, and tidbits are provided. Famous food spots and convenience stores are nearby on foot, and Dataran Pahlawan mall is walkable too.
