The room was a standard size, not too small, and the toilet was clean. It had satellite TV, air conditioning, a fan, shower gel and a water jug, but no kettle or hair dryer. The room was generally clean, though there was an unpleasant smell. The bedsheet and pillow looked a little yellow, but they were clean.

A staff member woke us in the middle of the night to ask for our booking number. Why wasn’t that checked at check-in? We’d just fallen asleep and got completely disturbed. The room was extremely dirty, and the service was very poor. I really don’t understand the high rating, and this stay wasn’t worth it.

It’s about a 15-minute walk to the attractions. The room was very clean, the staff were friendly, and all the basic necessities were there. A great stay.

Room 210 had a cold air-con and plenty of space for a family. There are a few eateries and convenience stores nearby, so it worked fine for a budget stay of a night or two. The room showed clear wear, including stains on the wall left by previous customers, and the water heater was awfully loud when switched on. Agoda lists car parking, which is technically true, but it’s public parking that you pay for and use at your own risk. There’s no security watching the cars.

For RM60 a night, the standard double room without a window was very affordable. It was spacious enough for a couple and our one-year-old. The floor was clean, with no dirt or dust, and the air-con was cold. The water heater and ventilation worked too. There was a stain on the bedsheet, though the comforter looked clean. It seemed newly renovated, and it’s the best budget hotel I’ve experienced.
