With most hotels full over the long public holiday weekend, Mr Chew, the manager with more than ten years’ experience, helped us find somewhere for our family of five. I’d been told his name by a staff member, and hope I have it right. He even showed us around before we decided. We didn’t end up staying here, but he kindly arranged and confirmed a room at their sister property, Aurora Hotel. Many thanks to him. We’d arrived looking for a room for 31 May 2025 after our previous hotel cancelled because a sewer pipe upstairs had leaked onto the bed. The room here gets three stars from me: there was a noticeable smoke smell on the way up, and there’s no lift. If you’re looking for a very budget stay, though, this could be a sensible choice.

We paid RM75 for a twin room and found it clean and good. It had spotless bedsheets, working air conditioning, a long table and chair, plus small complimentary toiletries: a toothbrush, chrisamtumum toothpaste, shower gel, and shampoo in mini bottles. Clean and affordable, just right for a stay.

There’s free parking on site and a dim sum shop right next door. Jonker walk is an 8-minute drive away. Just be aware there’s no lift, so you’ll need to take the stairs to level 1 or above.

This is my third stay in Malacca, and I’ll come back again. The room is super clean, almost spotless, and doesn’t smell. The pillow is good quality, and the bed and blanket are really comfortable. An underrated hotel with nice rooms, 10/10. Remember to ask for the WiFi at check-in. The deposit is only RM50, and there’s a food court and other eateries close by.
