The shared spaces made it easy to meet other travellers and swap stories, though they could get too hot for sitting around without air-conditioning. Chua and Maria were wonderful hosts, always trying to make us feel welcome and help us plan our time in Melakka. The rooms and facilities were spotless and simple, with everything we needed. WiFi only worked within a few metres of the router, apparently because the government was upgrading the cables; the owners did their best to offer another login when they could. It was a quiet, safe, clean and welcoming place.

As a solo traveler, I felt really comfortable here. The room was basic but fine for a good night's rest, the bed was comfy, and the air conditioning worked well. The shared toilets were clean and I could always find one free. There was also a little breakfast available whenever you wanted. The location is great and quiet, and the owners were incredibly warm and helpful. It felt like a place made for travelers, unlike the more sterile hotels and Airbnb's. Thanks for everything!

What made the stay stand out was host Chua, who's always happy to chat and knows so much about Malacca. His suggestions really helped us, so do ask him for advice. The property itself is lovely, with comfortable beds, very clean facilities and good service. It's also well priced and right in the center, close to shops and restaurants and not far from the main sights.
