Breakfast ran from 7:30 to 10:30 am, and the food was quite good. I especially loved the nasi lemak with sambal, which was superrrrr delicious, and the sambal kupang. The cafe worked for me, though it wasn’t very spacious, maybe because of the bulky chairs. The room was clean, spacious, and looked like the ad. I booked through booking.com and got a cheaper rate. The toilet door was hard to slide, and the air conditioner was placed awkwardly. I’d have preferred it in front of the bed. The reception staff were friendly. I came by motorbike, but there’s no motorbike parking. Staff said to park behind the hotel, and we ended up leaving it beside some plant pots. I wish they had a proper motorbike space. The location is handy, very close to the mall and taming sari. The lobby feels quite old school, and I hope they modernize it like the rooms. Still, it was a good experience with a nice hotel, room, and people. Would I stay again? Yes!

We got a better deal booking through agoda than directly with the hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious, and breakfast was good. The location is really convenient, within walking distance of local restaurants and a museum. We came as a family for a short vacation. Hope the hotel keeps up and improves its service. Thank you.

The room and bathroom cleanliness left me unsure, and nighttime noise was extreme because of the location. We were also charged RM10 for an extra towel without anyone telling us beforehand. I’ve never been charged for one before, since it should be a basic amenity. The trouble started when we tried to park by the hotel entrance. A security guard demanded our room number without explaining why, even though we were there to check in. We were told only “selected rooms” could park there, a rule that apparently hadn’t been explained to the guard either. It reminded me of another guest’s report about being assigned twin beds instead of the superior king they booked, then being told by reception to check Agoda because of a system issue. Seems like customer service hasn’t improved. This was my first visit, and my last.

The first impression was poor. When I asked about parking at check-in, a front desk agent told me the spaces in front of the hotel were for employees, even though Agoda’s booking page and the sign on the pillar made it look like guest parking was available. It felt misleading and badly planned. We were shocked that hotel employees seemed to get priority for the most convenient spaces while paying guests had to manage the inconvenience. That explanation was ridiculous, and the gap between what the signage suggested and what we were told made the hotel’s service standards seem disappointing and unprofessional.

The location was the highlight for us. It’s an easy walk to tourist spots and malls, and the huge pasar malam from Friday to Sunday is nearby. There’s plenty there that suits Malay and halal tastes, more variety than Jonker Street, which felt more limited to me. Asam pedas places are close too. Parking is public, with lots of spaces, though on a weekend I’d leave the car and walk because the pasar malam area gets packed with traffic. We stayed over the weekend, October 4-5, in a family triple room. For the price, it was excellent and spacious for three adults and two kids under three, with a king bed and a single. The mattress and pillows felt good and clean, and there was enough open floor space for the little ones to run around. The TV had cable, Netflix, and YouTube, though it looked small from the bed. My teen daughter and husband loved the hotel’s aesthetic, and it looked just like the Agoda photos. There was an iron and ironing board, and a sejadah in the drawer. The bathroom was big, but its lock felt flimsy and difficult, so I stopped trying to lock it. Our window faced an abandoned building, which wasn’t a big deal, we just kept the curtain closed. The lighting, though, was much too dim. I was with family, but alone it would have felt like a horror movie. Our room was far from the lift, past two staircases with no lights and open doors. A cleaner’s room two doors from room 333 was also dark, open, and messy. It would look more professional with the door shut. The peephole was covered with tissue or paper, so I couldn’t see if anyone was at the door. Remember to bring $100 for the deposit, returned at checkout, plus $14 for tourism and heritage tax. I’d definitely stay here again. ❤️
