Super OYO Capital O 90545 Ho Hotel

We came here just to sleep and rest after spending a week caring for a family member in the hospital ward. It’s very close to Hospital Melaka, and works well for a bed and shower. For a holiday stay, though, it probably wouldn’t be my first choice.

I was very disappointed with the service. The check-in counter was 3 km from the actual hotel room. When we checked in, there was no body soap, and reception said that was normal and none of the guests were provided with it. The toilet flush was completely broken, so we had to flush manually, and the bed had a broken spring. I spoke to Oyo customer service, Boy, but he said he couldn’t help solve the problem. I don’t understand what the point of customer service is then.

What a frustrating stay. The receptionist area was really hot, with no fan or air conditioning turned on. The room was nicely laid out for bags, but the towel and floor mat were filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned for the next guest. The toilet wouldn’t flush because its pipe was leaking badly. We asked to change rooms or have it repaired, but the receptionist refused because there were no rooms or spare parts. We had no choice but to ask for a refund and look elsewhere. He wouldn’t refund us, claiming we’d booked online. That excuse made no sense. If you can acknowledge and verify our check-in, why can’t you process the refund when you can’t provide the room and service? The hotel should’ve checked and fixed the issue before guests arrived, instead of leaving it to us to point out. It was already 10pm, most nearby hotels were nearly full because of the National holiday, and they left us to scramble for somewhere else. We were upset and furious, and even cancelled our next trip stop because of this. After arguing, the receptionist agreed to move us to a bigger room if we topped up the difference under a no-refund option. We finally settled it, but the new room had no towel, floor mat, shampoo, or anything at all. The toilet door was damaged, the bulb was dim with several points not lighting up, the plug was damaged, and there were other issues too. For what I paid for one night, I’d rather have booked another 4 stars hotel with complete facilities and good service. At least the customer service attitude there wouldn’t be this terrible and unpleasant.

I wouldn’t stay here again. There was hair left on the table and sink from the previous guest when I entered the room, and the cleaning needs improvement. The TV had no remote, so I couldn’t use it. Service also felt very bare-bones. Maybe that explains why the price is a bit lower than other places, but I can’t recommend it.
