The location and cleanliness mattered most to my family, and both were good. Seven of us, including a teenager, stayed recently across three rooms. One was a connecting room with two bathrooms, which worked especially well for us. The rooms were clean and we enjoyed the stay, though the price made the lack of basic toiletries noticeable, since there was no hand soap. The shower area is small and may be uncomfortable for larger-built guests. There aren’t any hotel facilities, so it suits travellers who just need somewhere clean and convenient. I’d recommend it to families who care more about location, cleanliness, and practicality than amenities.

You can walk to the main tourist attractions, with Jonker Street, Hard Rock Cafe, and plenty of cafes and places to eat nearby. The location is convenient, and the staff, Imran and Cynthia, were very helpful.

I keep coming back to this little three-star boutique hotel in Melaka City. The rooms are simple and minimalist, but clean, with a comfortable bed, duvet, pillows and mattress. The rates are very affordable for a three-star place. Best of all, it’s right in the middle of everything: Jonker Walk is about 10 metres away, and the cruise boats, historic sites and city sights are all within walking distance.

Ikram at reception really stood out during my three-day, two-night getaway from KL. I even saw him helping clean a room after checkout to get it ready for the next guest, and his hospitality was excellent. The room was comfortable and well kept, and the hotel sits right in the heart of Jonker Street, handy for exploring. I had a great stay at Styles Hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Melaka.

The location was the one real plus, with attractions and restaurants easy to reach. The rest made for a disappointing stay. I could hear footsteps, conversations and doors slamming in the hallway, which made it very hard to sleep. My room was so cramped I couldn’t comfortably open my luggage, and the air conditioner had a thick layer of dust that made me question the cleanliness overall. The shower head sprayed water in every direction, and the heater never got properly hot, especially disappointing on chilly mornings. I hope management takes these problems seriously.
