There are also nearby options for food, including MCD and local places like ikan asam pedas, wong solo, and Pakistani food, all of which taste delicious. The room is small but manageable for two people with cabin luggage, and the service was okay. The price also has Malay tourism tax and heritage fee added, around RM13.

We were able to walk to all the nearby attractions during our three days and two nights here, without using the car. Parking is in the basement and costs RM4 per entry. The hotel is in a strategic spot and good value for the price. The room is small but fine for two, and it comes with a kettle and hairdryer. The bathroom had a slight smell, though it was okay. Very affordable, and I’d recommend it 😊

The rooms were the worst part: tiny, dated, and not very clean. There’s barely space to move, and the bathroom is so cramped that a larger person may struggle to get into the shower. The door barely opens halfway. Getting hot water also takes a degree in figuring out the system. The air-conditioning barely worked, and the outdoor units near the dumpsters meant a constant trash smell. On a weekend, a room facing the main road made sleep nearly impossible. You hear every bit of street noise, and fireworks went off around 2-3am, though that part isn’t really the hotel’s fault. The corridors are open air, which wasn’t a problem by itself, but when it rained there were several leaks and staff put buckets underneath instead of fixing them. Reception staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there and came across as rude at check-in. The lifts are small too, though there weren’t many guests, so we didn’t face long waits. This definitely isn’t a 3-star hotel and should be downgraded to 1 star. We paid NZ$349 (MYR 943.11) for two rooms for two nights, and that money would’ve been better spent elsewhere. Just my opinion, but pick another place, anywhere else. Don’t book here even as a last resort. You’d be better off sleeping on the street.

The hotel was quiet, which suited me as a solo traveller looking for somewhere comfortable. Cleanliness was pretty good, the staff were friendly, and the air conditioner was very cold. Recommended if you want a clean, convenient base for getting to tourist spots.
