The location is amazing, and the staff were outstanding, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are clean, the aircon and water heater worked great, and the towels were decent. Mine was tiny, though, with barely 30cm of walking space between the bed and the wall. I saw larger rooms with enough room for another king-size bed, so ask for one of those if you want space. It’s very basic, just a bed, desk, and clothes rack. There’s nowhere to hang your towel after a shower except over the toilet bowl, which is a bad spot. The toilet flush needs both buttons pressed at once, which was a little inconvenient. No lift, bottled water, or toiletries beyond body soap. If all you need is a bed and toilet within a 10-minute walk of jonker street, it’s perfect. For anything nicer, it’s really bare-bones.

The welcome was wonderful, with the owner Miss Ann and her husband greeting us warmly and offering complimentary food on the table. The staff were accommodating and spoke several languages, including English, Malay, Chinese, Tagalog, and Indonesian. The hotel entrance door felt secure and safe. Our room was very clean, and the shower heater worked well. We had a mini window with a lovely view of Malacca's river at night. There’s a minimart next door selling cheap local beer and snacks, and the hotel is within walking distance of Dutch Square, Melacca Canal, and other scenic spots. For the price, it was worth it. The whole stay felt super wonderful. We found our home in Malacca at Taj Grand Hotel, and it was the best stay I’ve ever had.

A simple hotel with the basics, and the staff were very, very friendly and helpful. The room faced the street, so it got like an oven inside even with the AC on. Keep the AC running to cool the hot room down, or you’ll roast yourself in there, LOL. Otherwise it’s a very, very nice hotel. I’d stay again in the near future if the deal is right ;) Thanks to OYO for making it a steal!

Not a good fit for business travel. There’s no lift, so I had to carry my luggage up two floors, though I guess it was good exercise. Parking is difficult because it’s in the city centre. I found a few mosquitoes in the room and killed them. The towel and pillowcase weren’t clean, the shower head was faulty, and no bottled water was provided.

A handy budget option near Jonker Street and the historic buildings, with a convenience store right next door. They have family rooms for four at an affordable rate, which is surprisingly hard to find.
