The owner and the lady on staff were welcoming and really helpful, including when my internet failed and the owner helped me get an online ride. We stayed one night, and I’d book again if I come to Malacca. Our room was quite spacious for two, so make sure you reserve the right room. The shower and air conditioning both worked, though the AC could use a clean and a bit of maintenance. Red Square and Jonker Street are less than a kilometre away. There’s a kopi tiam nearby for breakfast, plus a 7eleven.

I wouldn't recommend this place. I had booked a room with air conditioning, but on arrival the receptionist said I’d have to pay extra for one. I told her that was what I’d already reserved and refused to pay more. I only got the room I booked after calling the police.

The owner was kind, and the receptionist was helpful. They offer free coffee and tea, plus hot and cold drinks.

It’s a ten-minute walk to the main street, which made it easy to explore Malacca, and the price is very competitive for the area. If you’re on a tight budget and need somewhere basic to sleep, it may work. The place feels dated and badly in need of maintenance. Cleanliness was disappointing and the facilities looked worn. Other guests smoked in the corridors and even in the shared bathroom right beside our room, making things unpleasant. I didn’t see staff enforcing any rules. I’d look elsewhere if comfort and cleanliness matter to you.
