Mersing Maple Villa

Mr Kam was such a warm, friendly host. The property is kept in excellent condition and feels homely. I really enjoyed my stay.

Maple Villa is in a residential area, so getting around depends on transport. If you're used to walking, though, it shouldn't be a problem. If you ask nicely, the owner might drive you into town, especially in an emergency. I saw him do that during my stay. The rooms are clean, each with its own bathroom, and the air conditioning works. There's a pleasant shared outdoor space, and the room rates are very competitive. It's Muslim friendly, with no things that go against the religion. You can come and go whenever you like, since the host gives you keys for the electric gate and house. The owner is a brilliant host. Have a great stay at Maple Villa!

The owner was very friendly, and the rooms were clean. We stayed for one night before taking the boat to Tioman Island. There's an outdoor area to relax, plus free coffee and tea. You can keep your water and drinks in the fridge shared with the other four rooms.

We booked Room A for five people. It had two large beds, one single bed, and a clean bathroom inside the room. Shampoo and body wash were provided, and the parking area was big enough for at least four cars. I'd book again if we went snorkeling there another time. We arrived close to midnight after a tiring six-hour trip from KL, so we didn't talk much with the owner. He did explain a few things to my husband and suggested we leave around 7am and get breakfast before our snorkeling trip. It was hard to see anything at night, so I think a large Mersing Maple Villa sign near the gate would help. I was hesitant to book at first, but after reading guest reviews I went ahead. We were only staying about six hours and just needed somewhere near the jetty for the night.
