The second night was much quieter: after my plans changed, I moved to a double room on the second floor overlooking the river. The first-floor single room had no window and quite a bit of traffic noise, though that comes with being so central. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was good once I chose the right network, though it was iffy until then. There’s a 7-Eleven across the street. The first room was compact, as expected. A solid budget choice.

There’s plenty nearby, including Eco Shop, 7e, My Big shop, and other stores, so you can pick up anything you forgot. The room was fairly spacious for two and should be fine for one night. Bring toiletries and a water bottle for refilling at the Coway dispenser. You may also want earplugs since the rooms aren’t soundproof. Towels are provided, if you’re comfortable using them.

The room by reception was noisy, and construction at 1am meant I couldn't rest properly. Aside from that, the basic amenities were enough for a one-night stay.

The street motorbikes were loud, though that isn't the hotel's fault. My room was clean and had everything it needed, and the staff were really friendly. I'd stay again before going to the islands.

The road noise carries straight into the room, which isn't soundproof, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. I was here for one night before catching the ferry, and at this price I suppose you put up with a lot. The place wasn't well maintained: the wardrobe top looked ghastly, my towel had a stray hair on it, and the room was hot and smelled of sewage when we arrived. There was also a dead bird outside the toilet window.
