Emart Hotel (Riam)

For what I paid, it was acceptable, though there’s a lot that could be improved. I booked one night through Agoda and would give it 4/10. The lobby was simple and fine, but there was a damp smell all the way up to the fourth floor. The room itself was okay but old, with damp or leak marks on the walls and ceiling, and a damaged-looking bathroom door. Basic things were missing: hangers, slippers, a safe, iron and ironing board, fridge, and a phone to call the front desk. It was noisy too, with sounds from the hallway coming through.

I really like staying here. It’s not a 5-star hotel, so I don’t expect much. Waking up to views of housing, plantations, and planes landing and taking off makes my day. And the smell of nasi ulam from downstairs reminds me I won’t go hungry here 😋😋😋

The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable, but I have doubts about the hygiene. The water heater didn’t work, and the metal hose didn’t feel safe. Room service was terrible, with no staff coming to clean the room. Don’t book through booking.com, use their website.

The room was comfortable, but the WiFi kept reconnecting without internet, even after I called the front desk. My Agoda booking was for 3:15 pm arrival. At first they said all rooms were booked, then said the room hadn’t been cleaned yet and asked me to wait. How could it still be unready between 2 and 3 pm? I booked again for 1/5/2026, and check-in was late again. People were crowded at reception, and the room still wasn’t ready. I only got in at 3:30 pm. Felt like I’d lost an hour and a half.
