The hostel’s outside the centre of Muar, but I walked into town and back each day. You could also take a Grab, taxi, or cycle. The place was clean, and everyone working there was very helpful. My bus from KLIA was badly delayed, but they made sure I’d be okay when I arrived. The kitchen facilities are great. The mattresses could use replacing, though.

Came back a year later and it’s still a five-star place. The kitchen’s improved with a stove, and the hostel is bigger now, with mixed and women’s dorms plus more private rooms. Looking forward to another visit. It’s clean and good value, close to town, with shops and restaurants nearby. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They speak English and a few other languages.

It’s good value and very clean, and you can make coffee or cook for yourself. The owners are really friendly, and it’s a comfortable place for solo travel. There aren’t any restaurants nearby, so you’ll need a car for local Malay food, unless you head into town for more choices. The shower pump pressure is just low.

There’s a really large bicycle parking area on the ground floor, and the hostel also hosts Warmshowers. I dropped off a friend here before their cycling trip, then headed back to Kuala Lumpur. It’s a cyclist friendly hostel, and the owner is very nice and a traveler too.

I only planned to stay one night, but ended up staying three. The people running it are the best part, super friendly and genuinely kind. Lily and her friends drop by now and then, which makes Lily's WakaLily hostel feel warm and lively, like a cosy family home. It’s very clean and nicely decorated. The rooms have air conditioning and proper blankets to snuggle under, and the Wi-Fi works well throughout the building. It’s friendly for bicycle tourists too.
