Children were crying on the third floor at night, and the room let all the noise through. I had trouble falling asleep. This was my first visit and my last.

It’s a compact budget hotel with everything you need, close to the heart of Klang. The location is decent, near a big shopping mall, with lots of restaurants around.

The room was so cramped I’m not sure I’d even call it a room. I paid RM 122 for one night. There were no coffee sachets, so I had to ask reception, and no toothbrush or toiletries either. I had to buy a toothbrush at reception for RM 3, even though that should have been included. Charging absurd prices for basic amenities too? What a terrible place. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re in an emergency.

The Indian receptionist uncle was really good, and I checked in for just a few hours because of an emergency. But the room was awful for RM98. It smelled strongly of cigarettes as soon as I opened the door, the air conditioner barely cooled and seemed to be running like a fan, and the washroom leaked during heavy rain. I can’t even rate the room. Such a sad night. Please do something, GM Hotel.

For a short stay in Botanik, it’s well worth the price. It’s the cheapest around, yet one of the better hotels in the area for service. The receptionists are helpful and can speak several languages.
