Pendang Suite Hotel PLT

I stayed here again in May 2024, this time for 4D3N, after a 6D5N visit in February 2024. They gave me the same room, Room 201, and for what I paid it was a bargain. I wasn't expecting Club Med, just a decent clean room with a TV, hot shower, desk for my laptop, and enough plug points. The air conditioning was great too. Down the corridor there's a water dispenser for coffee, tea, or instant noodles, and snacks are sold in a vending machine outside reception. Nearby are a coin laundry two doors away, a fresh produce supermarket beside it, and an Eco Shop about 100 meters away. I usually had breakfast at the Chapati joint just 20 steps away. The location works well.

The room felt a little small to me, but apart from that it was AAA okay.

The room was cramped for the RM100 per night I paid, especially compared with decent 3-4 star rooms I could get in Penang. I’d booked through agoda for two adults and two children, but the beds only fit two adults. With no lift, we had to carry the toddlers and make repeated trips up and down the stairs with our luggage. There wasn’t enough bed space for us to sleep that night. The sheets were dusty, there was a musty smell, and both sides of the beds had lizard droppings. We checked in Friday, just as tents were being set up for a kenduri the next day. The event started as people were checking out, so taking our things down to the car meant dealing with all the stairs. I had to park far away in the el-nino weather. We definitely won't come back.

A comfy place to rest between long drives, much better than sleeping in the car. It's a budget hotel, so don't expect a 4 or 5 star place. The room was nice and clean, there was ample parking outside, and eating places, an eco shop, and a dobi were along the same row. The front desk staff were understanding. I liked it.
