Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel

Even with renovation work going on during my stay, the hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the service felt professional. I was visiting from overseas and had a pleasant experience. I’m curious to see how it turns out once all the work is finished.

There were no other customers in the ground-floor restaurant while the three of us had lunch. The place looked very clean, with a new design that felt different from Eastin, and the waitress welcomed us attentively. But the crab mamak mee for two was disappointing: I couldn’t find any crab meat, and the noodles tasted burnt. There was also a horsefly flying around where we were dining. Hope management improves things.

I came for lunch January 27, 2026, after making a reservation at The Atrium. When I arrived, I was told the outlet wasn’t ready and would only be ready sometime in February. I was then told it was combined with the existing Chinese Restaurant. Why advertise it as ready and take my reservation if the new outlet can’t receive patrons? For a 4-star Establishment, it seems Management and On-The-Ground Operations aren’t communicating. The parking gate also kept showing a Transaction Error Message when I tried both a Touch n Go and Bank Debit card. The Security Guard couldn’t fix it and told me to drive to the Lobby to pay. Front Office staff kindly offered Complimentary Parking, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. If the new F&B outlets aren’t ready to operate, don’t advertise them or take reservations. My expectations weren’t managed, and I’ll only return once the Hotel is properly up and running, which I expect may take 1 year or more.

The breakfast was freshly prepared, satisfying, and had a decent variety. I genuinely enjoyed it, even though it was served in a temporary location, the ground-floor Chinese restaurant, which was the only restaurant open. The place had a good vibe anyway. My room felt brand new, was sparkling clean, and had a pleasant modern design. The staff I met were polite and helpful. Still, the hotel didn’t seem ready for full operation. Only two floors were open to guests, and contractors were often walking around our floor. We were told drilling and knocking would go on until 6pm, but the noise seemed to continue until about 8pm at least. Contractors were also painting and working by the pool while guests were there.
