Royale Chulan The Curve

On Wednesday morning, while I was working at the desk in my room, I spotted a cockroach on the wall near my workspace. I found it extremely unsettling and honestly quite traumatizing, especially for a place marketed as a 4-star hotel. I told the receptionist right away. They apologized and sent housekeeping to clean the room, but nobody followed up or offered an explanation or reassurance. The response felt routine and didn’t match the seriousness of the problem. Cleanliness and hygiene should be a priority at a hotel of this rating. I know these things can happen, but finding a cockroach in a guest room reflects badly on maintenance and pest control. I expected better, and hope management takes the feedback seriously and improves cleanliness control.

We weren’t guests at Royale Chulan, but the front desk team still helped us when we were stranded late at night. Our phones and power bank had run out of battery, and home was a long way off. A young Malay man, a young woman, and a young Indian man were all kind, respectful, and went out of their way to help us get home safely. Thank you to the three of you, and may God bless you with happiness always. 🙏🎉 And the Christmas tree in the lobby looked amazing, beautifully decorated and hard to miss. We came for a day at Kidzania with our kid, and the hotel’s location made that easy. There are plenty of places to eat and shop nearby too. The staff were courteous, and for this price I thought the stay was good. The room does look its age, but everything worked: the air conditioning was cold and the shower had hot water with good pressure. Keep up the maintenance.
