Getting around from the hotel is convenient and the location is appealing, though getting out of the hotel itself is a little awkward. It’s manageable. Parking costs extra: valet is RM12.00 per day, or paid parking is RM8.80 daily and accepts TnG or debit card. There’s a picture you can refer to. The self-service reception works by following the machine’s instructions. Have a bank card ready because there’s an extra RM20.00 charge. I tried to get another room card, but it didn’t work 🥴 The room looks nice, but it’s small for over RM90 a night, especially for PJ in Selangor rather than KL. There were a few maintenance and housekeeping issues: a torn bedsheet, a nearly loose towel hanger, a loose toilet seat cover, and a disposable head cover that had already been used and wasn’t replaced. The bathroom has separate manual knobs for hot and cold water. The TV is Android, so Netflix is available. Soundproofing is decent, though loud motorbikes can still be heard.

Staff answered on WhatsApp, even late at night, which I appreciated. Check-in is through a kiosk, with no staff there to speak to, and the restaurant downstairs is nice. I had a good first room, 306, and booked another week. Room 505 smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke and had cockroaches, so I asked to move. Room 410 also smelled strongly of smoke, but I managed to stay through the rest of my booking. A friend has stayed in two other rooms and had no smell issues, for what it’s worth. If you get a room without an odour, it’s a great value hotel. It seems there’s a chance of getting a bad room, though.

Being right by PJ City Centre made it easy to walk to restaurants and shopping malls, and the whole stay felt comfortable and convenient. My room was neat and cozy, a nice place to unwind after a long day. I arrived late at night, but self check-in was simple and hassle-free. I had a fantastic stay at Ukiyo Hotel and would definitely return.

Room 405 has a couple of problems I’d like to report. The hair dryer basket is mouldy, which raises hygiene concerns, and the toilet flush is clogged and not working properly. Could you arrange maintenance promptly or offer another solution? I hope the hotel takes this seriously so guests can have a comfortable, clean stay. Thank you for your attention. I look forward to hearing back.

Check-in at Ukiyo Hotel was quick and easy, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Settling in was hassle-free. I had a comfortable stay during my work trip in Feb.
