Avillion Cove Holiday Apartment

The marina view and location are good, but they couldn't make up for how the stay went. Check-in felt cold from the start. Amy knew I'd requested a view, but didn't explain the room assignment. I opened the curtains to find the parking lot. The only option at reception was to pay another RM70 for a sea view, which we did, though the exchange made us feel like a nuisance instead of guests. There was also an uncomfortable sense that we were being judged over whether we could afford extras like breakfast. We managed the charges, thanks. At breakfast I saw kitchen staff handling food with bare hands, which didn't inspire confidence. The pool was more concerning: a sign said “Do Not Swim - Chemical In Use”, but children were in the water and no staff seemed to be monitoring or enforcing it. If chemicals were being used, that seemed unsafe; if not, the sign was misleading. I knew it was a 3-star hotel and didn't expect luxury, but I did expect basic hospitality. The parking lot view was memorable enough. I wouldn't stay again.

Mr. Mahesh, the duty Manager, was phenomenal and took care of all my requests despite the overwhelming crowd. The management and staff also handled the school and long weekend rush well, and we didn't wait too long for the early breakfast buffet. The ambience and surroundings were good. Breakfast was fine if you chose carefully and didn't expect anything majestic. This place could have been magnificent.

The relaxing atmosphere made this feel like a real break from the daily grind, and the staff were lovely and did all they could for us. Our room was spotless and very comfortable, with a lovely view to wake up to. From arrival through checkout, everything was top-notch. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return.

The beach and yacht views make this a lovely staycation spot, and the rooms were comfortable for the price. The breakfast buffet was okay, though I would've liked more variety. Getting around was a little inconvenient because the lifts aren't well placed. Still, I had a pleasant stay.
