Lexis Port Dickson

A nice spot for a staycation, but don’t pay extra for a sea-view water chalet if you’re hoping to fish. Fishing is allowed, and sea-view rooms cost 100+ more, but the nets now block the fish, so the chance of catching one is very, very low. Save the money and book a regular room instead.

My child tripped in front of the lobby on a raised drain cover. Staff saw it but didn’t help until I asked for a first aid kit, which raises real concerns about safety and how quickly they respond. Management should provide customer service and safety training for all front-line staff. I booked one night at Lexis Port Dickson for my son’s birthday and our wedding anniversary. I asked for simple bed decorations and said I’d pay if needed, but at 2:16 PM on check-in day, reception called to say they couldn’t do it because of time constraints. Being told at the last minute was very disappointing and unprofessional. When we arrived, reception didn’t acknowledge the issue or apologize. The check-in felt cold and unwelcoming, below what I expected from a hotel of this reputation. We often stay at 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels in and outside Kuala Lumpur, and this front office experience was very disappointing.

We switched at the last minute from a Water Chalet Room to a Tower Room for our team training because it was cheaper. I really liked the view from the room, with the breeze and a beautiful sunset. The room was very large, with a spacious bathroom and a jacuzzi, plus a balcony with chairs. The design is old-fashioned, but it was still comfortable and enjoyable. There wasn’t much choice in the food, though it was fine.

The breakfast buffet was great, and I enjoyed staying in the water chalet. It must have been a luxury resort when it was built, but it needs renovation now.
