We keep coming back to Naam Boutique Lodge for the views, beach access, and the courteous service. Even with the bigger TSR 3-STAR hotel next door, we prefer staying here. I think it’s good value, and our friends who’ve stayed there feel the same. We’ve visited four times, usually booking ahead because it fills up quickly. My wife and I come with our three children, now 22, 16, and 14, and we normally book three rooms. When friends join us, we sometimes take four. Across different rooms, we’ve always found clean linen and pillowcases, plus two large bath towels for each bed. The bathrooms have been well kept, the showers are powerful, and the toilets spotless. The air conditioning works well and is quiet. There are spacious shared areas on both floors, with filtered hot and cold water, a large TV for cricket or football, and ceiling fans in the common spaces and patios so you can enjoy the sea breeze. My wife and I are professionals in the upper middle class, but unlike Davide Cole, we can’t travel for all twelve months of the year.

The night manager made the stay miserable. He kept talking loudly on his phone late into the night, even after we spoke to him twice, including after midnight, and everyone was kept awake. The ground floor and rooms were noisy in general. When we checked out early the next morning, he denied there had been any issue and seemed uninterested. The room itself was small and very basic. There was no kettle, fridge, safe, bed linen, pillowcases, water, or TV. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly, and the open bathroom drain looked disgusting. Cleanliness was lacking too. We’ve been travelling for twelve months, and this was one of our worst hotel stays and the worst value for money of the whole trip.

The owner and his wife were very polite and humble. The location is good, close to Teluk Kemang beach, but the price felt very high for such a small room with one queen bed, a little table, air conditioning, and an attached bathroom. It might suit someone needing a place to stay for a ceremony, family event, or gathering.
