Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa

The trip from the jetty to the resort and check-in went smoothly. We caught the first ferry and were able to check in early when we arrived. Our room was spacious and very clean, though the pillow sank too easily and wasn’t comfortable for me. We had dinner at Dapur and liked the food. The staff were all well trained and made us feel welcome. We were impressed by the hospitality and would highly recommend the resort. It exceeded my expectations.

The resort is beautifully designed and feels very new. Our room was fantastic, and the pool areas were luxurious. I especially liked the relaxing lap pool for adults. The beaches were stunning, clean, and very quiet during our off-season visit. Service from the Marriott staff was excellent and attentive. Our key didn’t work at check-in, so they left chocolate and biscuits in our room the next morning. Food and drinks were fine, though pricey. We had excellent seafood at Sekoci, and the buffet was decent. Other island places to eat were closed in the off season. We really wished we could stay longer!

We first visited Perhentian Kecil with Marriott in March 2025 and had such a lovely time, especially celebrating my husband’s birthday, that we promised ourselves we’d come back. We returned just a week ago, and this visit was even better. We stayed in a pool villa, the staff were just as warm, and the food was better than last time. The chef at Dapur did a fantastic job. The fun began on the ferry, spotting baby sharks, then visiting Tranquility Beach and Romantic Beach and eating well at all three restaurants. Many thanks to Thivagaran Sinnathamby, the F&B Manager, and to Johan, Bella, Hayati, Hilmi, Amirul, Faizal, Zafirah, and everyone else. Sorry I can’t remember all the names. They all helped make this an unforgettable stay with exceptional service. We left saying we’d return, and now it’s confirmed: we’ll be back in 2027 with even more friends 💙💙💙

We spent New Year at Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa from 30 December 2025 to 1 January 2026. We came during monsoon season, when the resort was quieter, and found the stay peaceful and relaxing. We’d booked a standard room, but were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a private pool villa. It was comfortable and private, and made the trip feel even more special. Zahirah took great care of my family and me. She was friendly, attentive, and professional, adding a personal touch to our stay. Highly recommended. We’d definitely come back.
