The cheapest dorm listing on booking.com puts you in the lounge, lobby, or main walkway, not a room. You hear and see everyone coming and going, and smell whatever's coming from the kitchen. There's no privacy or quiet. The queen room felt cramped for two people with luggage. The toilet bowl looked dirty, the mattress was old and uneven, and the blankets were tiny and uncomfortable. No wifi, fan, or AC either. If you need a quiet place to rest before or after hiking the mountain, pay more for somewhere along the highway or go on to Ranau. For all its faults, this is the only budget option in Kundasang.

We slept like babies and had a great stay. It works well for families, groups, or couples, and it's close to Kundasang Town. The shower and sink were the one thing that bothered us, since the water pressure wasn't equalized and could shoot at you like a torpedo.

The view was nice and it was quiet. The dorm was in an open space, with the second one behind doors. Staff weren't so nice.
