OYO 89537 Fairy Garden Resort

This was my first trip to Sabah, and it was disappointing. The room smelled like someone had been smoking in it. There wasn’t another room available when I asked to move, so they just gave me an air freshener. There’s no roof or proper parking area, which makes things harder and more dangerous in the rain, especially for elderly people. The water was a real problem too: it wouldn’t come out, and when it did, it was dirty. There was also an electrical trip. I hope the resort improves after my review is republished, for the sake of customers’ rights. Thank you.

The bed was great, the heater worked well, and the staff service was great too. But the Wi-Fi was bad, there was only a wall fan and no AC, and the TV had just two channels. Bring portable Wi-Fi if you don’t want to be without internet. People upstairs were loud, and there was a red stain on the bed. You can get the room cooler by opening the window, and the view over the parking area is good. It’s not near town. There’s an extension socket on the tablet, though I don’t know if other rooms have one. The remote didn’t work. If you need one that works, you have to massage the owner. Not a very good stay overall.

The restaurant serves good food, and the view of Kundasang is lovely. For a clear look at Mt Kinabalu, you need to walk across the road for about a minute. Upstairs, the internet is good, but it’s pretty poor on the second floor. It’s a simple, cozy place for a night, with the basics ready and nothing fancy.

The view is great, and the room stays cool. The restaurant is lovely, and the staff are friendly. My room was clean, though its toilet had a few problems. Parking can be a bit difficult, but otherwise it was perfect.
