OYO 89945 Marine Bay Hotel

Clean, nice hotel, good location, and really friendly staff. If you want somewhere affordable and clean, which matters, I’d recommend it.

The laundromat next door was a lifesaver for washing and drying my clothes and backpacks after getting soaked in the rainforest. That’s why I picked this spot. There’s also a day and night market across the road, plenty of restaurants, and an ATM nearby. The restaurant next door is pretty damn tasty too. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, making a great base for visiting the sanctuaries and rainforest around Sepilok. It’s only five minutes from the airport. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the cleaners did a great job on the rooms, building, and outside area. They even brought me extra coffee when I ran out.

There’s no restaurant on site, but lots of restaurants are within walking distance. The property is next to a mall, and you may need to park there if you bring a car. It’s centrally located, with large rooms facing the sea. Cleanliness, including in the washrooms, needs improvement, and the property doesn’t seem very familiar with nearby attractions.

The room and location were okay overall. The hotel sits right across from the central market, where you can get fresh items, and Harbour Mall is a two-minute walk away. My only issue was the room door lock, which can unlock on its own without being switched off.
